How we work

At Connaught Education, we believe that the best recruitment outcomes derive from a consultative and tailored approach to the unique needs of both candidates and schools. Understanding both parties, and aligning their needs and qualities, is critical to productive appointments for the long-term.

That’s why our process is designed around dialogue. We get to know you, your experience and your personality—to ensure we connect you only with the schools where you can both thrive and contribute.

Here’s how our process works:

Registration & Initial Consultation:

Once you have registered with us, the first step is usually to speak with one of our consultants. They’ll want to understand your career goals, experience, and the type of role you are looking for.

It’s at this stage that we take the time to learn not only about your professional qualifications but also the school environment and culture where you will perform your best. This time pays real dividends later.

Role-Matching & Relevance Check:

Once we’ve arrived at a shared understanding of your background and goals, Connaught can carefully monitor opportunities within the sector that align with your aspirations.

Whenever a relevant position arises, we will contact you to initially see if you agree it is a good match and, if it is, discuss the role in detail. Our priority here is to ensure the position suits you as a professional and as an individual. If we agree it would be a good fit, then we’ll recommend you to our partner schools or organisations.

Collaborative Decision-Making:

If the school/company agrees with us that the role is a good fit for you, we provide ongoing support throughout the interview and offer process. Our aim is to ensure we make the most of every opportunity.

Our in-depth knowledge of the independent sector means we can offer guidance and preparation that is specific to its expectations and values – as well as the needs of a particular school or group. We believe in adding value at every stage, for both our clients and candidates alike.

Ongoing Support:

Congratulations – you got the job. But the conversation between us—and our commitment to you and your career—doesn’t end there.

Recruitment is at its best when it works for candidate and employer. At Connaught Education, we focus on building strong, lasting relationships with both candidates and schools, ensuring that each placement is the right fit for everyone involved. Our services are completely free for candidates. Contact us today to begin a conversation.

Barry – Director of Music – St Johns Prep Northwood (Merchant Taylors)

Kathryn is a consummate professional! From the moment she reached out to me (via Linkedin) with regards to a specific role she knew about, to the end of the process, myself having being offered and accepted the job, she was always courteous and polite. She was in communication with me at every step of the way, even when there was a slight hiatus due to the school holiday period, keeping me fully informed of the situation and at what stage we were at. She relayed the details of the role and the contract to me exactly as it was presented by the school, and negotiated the remuneration package well within the parameters I had asked for. She dealt with the final offer and made sure everything was in place and secure for both parties before finally relinquishing the reigns for me to arrange final details with the school in question.
I would recommend Kathryn to anyone who was looking for a teaching role and would definitely work with her again if the need ever arose.
